Venus Perez is a woman living with HIV/AIDS for over 20 years.  She is also a HIV/AIDS & STD Author, Advocate & Songwriter. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and of Hispanic heritage she relocated to Longwood, Florida in 2003.  Venus is an experienced author and speaker on the topic of HIV/AIDS.  In her educational book “I'm Still Here,2nd edition” Venus hopes to empower others by sharing her experiences and providing vital information about HIV/AIDS as well as STDs.  Other works by Venus include: "Miracles Still Happen" and "Comfort Foods Cookbook."  

She attended FDR High School and Kingsborough Community College.  In expanding her education she attended Willsey Institute in 2001 for Nursing, Phlebotomy and EKG certification. She completed training HIV 500/501 and is presently a volunteer certified pre & post counselor and tester. She is a volunteer Program Director of The Place of Comfort and Executive Director of Easy Access Resource, Not-for-profit agencies assisting individuals who are medically frail in providing resource needs in crisis situations. She was an appointed member to the Orlando Eligible Metropolitan areas EMA HIV Health Services Planning Council and CFAP Consortia. Presently she speaks throughout the country and is a member of  Hispanic Achievers, the CAAID-Corporate Achiever Awards for Individuals with Disabilities and a board member of James House. She is also a representative to the Seminole County community, a sponsor to the Children's Miracle Network, International Fellowship of Christian and Jews, volunteer for the Coalition for the Homeless on Central Florida.
